Event Details

Italian art has left a profound and enduring legacy on the world, shaping artistic movements for centuries.  From the Renaissance to modern times, Italian artists have created timeless masterpieces. In this lecture, ArtScapades will look at Italian art, highlighting art periods and artists from its earliest beginnings in Italy.   Included is a look at art from the Renaissance, through Baroque and Rococo, into the so-called Italian Impressionist period of Macchiaioli, to Futurism and Expressionism.

Robin Hoffman and Jodi Stiffelman, of ArtScapades, began teaching art appreciation in 1998. They have presented at libraries, art centers, and museums in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Florida, and have been lecturing at New Canaan Library since 2010.
