Beers of the Summer: A Tasting

Start the season off with an educational tasting of beers that are perfect for hot summer days. Beer expert Neal Balkun presents “The Beers of Summer,” offering attendees tastings of a refreshing mix from Montauk Brewing, Narragansett Brewery, and Whalers Brewing. With Neal’s expertise and insights on brewing and food pairings, you will leave with enough information to impress your friends at summer parties and gatherings. Note: attendees must be 21 years old to register for this program. In case of rain, the event will be moved to the library's teaching kitchen. 

Neal Balkun brings 20 years of experience in the industry, from East Coast buyer for a major beer franchise to Director of Operations at Stewart’s Wine and Spirits, and most recently at a multi-state beer distributor. He is the founder of BeerYouniversity, a beer school created to train hospitality and retail staff or groups in a fun interactive format, and commercially brews his own beer. Balkun holds 5 certifications in beer science from Cornell University and has attended numerous educational seminars and conferences.
