Program Description
Event Details
Children ages 3-6 years and their caregivers, join Norwalk Hospital's Injury Prevention Coordinator, Brianna Iorfino, to learn crucial bike safety skills in a fun and interactive way. We'll start in the Library's Children's Program Room, then head out to the Library Green for a walk around the block and games such as Red Light/Green Light and Simon Says. In the process, children will learn why it is important to wear a helmet, how to properly wear a helmet, how to properly fit their bike to themselves, and other street safety skills.
Brianna Iorfino is the Injury Prevention Coordinator in Norwalk Hospital's Trauma Department. Brianna notes that unintentional injury is the main cause of death for people aged 1-44, and pedestrian accidents are the 5th leading cause of death for children aged 1-4. It is essential for preschoolers to be educated and equipped with these skills, and Brianna is excited to make these lessons fun and approachable.
