Program Description
Event Details
Author James Musyoka grew up in rural Kenya, where few books were available. Join us to hear the story of how he learned to read, then went on to write his own picture book, The Boy Who Read Newspapers, and helped start a mobile library that now makes books available for children throughout Kenya. After our reading and conversation with James Musyoka, we will make crafts that celebrate the power of words. Books will be available for purchase during the event. This program is ideal for elementary-aged children. Adults are encouraged to participate with their kids.
This program is presented in partnership with Creative Connections.
