Join Women Empowering Women Institute and New Canaan Library for an interactive panel discussion. Professionals in the legal/financial fields, and a parent of a child with special needs, will provide advice about how to navigate this topic. Regardless of financial status or age of your child, it is an important process to understand whether you are just starting or already have a legal document in place.

We are pleased to have distinguished panelists from a variety of fields sharing their expertise and advice.
Judy Havard is a Senior Portfolio Manager with YHB Investment Advisors and active in the special needs community including the St Aloysius Special Needs Ministry. She has been a New Canaanite for over 25 years and has three sons, one of which is on the autism spectrum.
Dr. Emma Levine is a licensed clinical psychologist and founder of Perennial Wellness LLC, a specialty group practice that provides evidence-based therapeutic services and parenting support. She has a decade of experience in diverse clinical settings, including child and family outpatient mental health centers, hospital clinics, college counseling programs and private practice.
Michael Beloff has over twenty years of financial services experience, enabling him to look at the complex issues facing families and small businesses. Inspired by his son with Autism, he has become a Chartered Special Needs Consultant® with extensive training and continuing education on the complex topics and particular challenges of caring for a dependent with special needs.
Kelly Piacenti is responsible for the MassMutual SpecialCare program which includes nearly five hundred Special Care Planners. She also oversees partnerships between MassMutual and a number of the largest special needs non-profit organizations across the country. She was the mother of a child with special needs for 19 years, and possesses the knowledge, insight and empathy to act as a mentor and resource for families facing similar challenges.
Jon L. Newman is a Private Wealth Advisor. He started his practice, Newman & Associates, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services in 1993. Since then, Jon has been passionately dedicated to both finance and helping people achieve their financial goals. He specializes in comprehensive financial planning with a broad knowledge of special needs planning.
