Join us as we celebrate the exciting intersection of the visual and literary arts. Using an age-old technique called ekphrastic writing, the Library’s Saturday morning writers group created 500-word-or-less flash pieces of vivid, often dramatic, descriptions of art from the Center for Contemporary Printmaking, currently on view in the Library's Lightburn Gallery. Ekphrastic writing entails using a selected piece of art to evoke a happening, place, or character that is either real or imagined by the writer, and then put into words.
A wine and cheese reception and short explanations by the writers and the artists from the Center for Contemporary Printmaking will round out the evening. Join us!
