Program Description
Event Details
Our inaugural MakerLab exhibit features animals of all sorts and laser cut exhibit boxes to display our research. We will work in groups of 2 or 3 to research an animal and create a shadow-box style exhibit to showcase the research we did on the animal including habitat, appearance, diet and fun facts. To begin, we will discuss the research process including different kinds of resources and how to evaluate. We will then analyze our notes and decide what to include in the exhibit. We will use the Glowforge laser cutter to cut our display box and animal and to etch our text. Your final product will stay at the library and will be on display outside the MakerLab for others to see and learn about our animals. This session is for Grades 5-7.
