Program Description

Event Details

Spike Lee's semi-autobiographical story of growing up in 1970s Bedford-Stuyvesant features a vibrant cast including Alfre Woodard and Delroy Lindo. Rated PG-13.

Written by Spike Lee jointly with his siblings, Crooklyn centers on Troy (Zelda Harris), a grade-school girl whose teacher mom (Alfre Woodard) and jazz musician dad (Delroy Lindo) worry over monthly bills while she banters and bonds with her four brothers. Against her will, Troy is sent South to her aunt's for a summer visit, but when she returns to her bustling Brooklyn neighborhood, she finds that a family member is gravely ill. Already mature, Troy is forced to face to some very grown-up facts about life and loss.
