Program Description

Event Details

Math Buddies* is hosting a math game club for elementary students at the New Canaan Library. Our first session will be held on Saturday, April 27th at 3:30pm and is free of charge. All students in grades K-4 are welcome!

Students will be grouped by age and/or math ability and will participate in board and card games as well as experiential play that will help reinforce math skills while having fun! Younger students can purchase groceries and add up their totals while cashiers make change. Board games such as Math Swatters and POP will help with addition and subtraction while Fracto and Prime Climb will emphasize multiplication, division and fractions. Supervised by high school students, this stress-free environment will hopefully foster a life-long love of math in all students, regardless of ability.

*Math Buddies is a New Canaan High School student-led tutoring club made up of high-performing math and National Honor Society students
