Program Description

Event Details

This month we will explore chine collé with instructor Jeanne McDonagh.  Chine collé is an art collage technique that we will use in conjecture with drypoint etching to add color to our prints using tissue paper.  We will also have the option of adding additional color to your print using watercolor.  We will print our final designs on printmaking paper using an etching press.   The instructor will share images for you to etch or you can bring your own images not larger than 8 inches. This is an adult class.

About the Instructor: Jeanne McDonagh is a digital arts teacher and artist who recently retired from a 32-year career at New Canaan High School. Ms. McDonagh, who considers herself a “lifelong learner,” earned a BA, BS from Saint John’s University and an MFA in Painting and Graphic Design from the Rochester Institute of Technology. In addition to her teaching career, Jeanne McDonagh has exhibited her photography at Mystic Museum of Art, Fairfield Museum, Rowayton Art Center and Carriage Barn Arts Center. She has been a photography juror and commentator for the Lower Fairfield Photography Club since 2009 and is the President of the Fritz Eager Foundation for Art Education.
