Program Description

Event Details

Be awed by the natural luminescence of fireflies at one of the nation’s first firefly sanctuaries, right here in New Canaan! This family-friendly event is designed to give everyone a chance to see the incredible lightshow that fireflies create after the sun sets.

Event details: Please arrive at the sanctuary at 8:15pm to collect your red flash light. Attendees will have a 15 minute walk through the woods to arrive at the firefly field. Remember to wear suitable walking shoes with a recommended light layer to prevent mosquito bites.

Location: Northern New Canaan, just north of the intersection of Sleepy Hollow Road and Laurel Road.

Access: Visitors should park across the street from 33 Sleepy Hollow Road, and access the property via a small footbridge on the west side of the road.

Thank you to the Land Trust for this special event, more information can be found here: https://newcanaanlandtrust.org/firefly/
