Library Assistant: Customer Service (Part-Time)

New Canaan Library is seeking a friendly, energetic, customer-service oriented person to join our Customer Service Department as a part-time Library Assistant in our new building. The Library Assistant directly assists Library patrons of all ages at public service desks and helps them to access materials and use library services. Duties include issuing Library cards, locating items within the Library, helping with library account issues, and assisting with checkout, as well as many behind-the-scenes tasks supporting the Library’s circulation functions including shelving, preparing item holds, answering phones and emails, and performing other relevant duties as assigned by the Manager of Customer Service. This non-exempt, part-time position of up to 20 hours/week requires weekly evening and regular weekend shifts in rotation.
