Welcome to Beginning Spanish Class at New Canaan Library. This engaging and interactive 8-week course is designed for adults with little to no experience in Spanish. This course introduces the fundamental elements of the Spanish language within a cultural context. Emphasis is on developing essential listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Please note this course is designed to equip participants with the necessary skills to progress to more advanced Spanish classes. It is recommended that students attend all sessions with regular participation for optimal learning outcomes. All students must be present at the FIRST class, or your registration will be dropped.  Please do not register for this class if you previously took Beginning Spanish at the Library in the Spring of 2024.

About the Instructor: Piedad Calderon is a certified Spanish Teacher with over a decade of experience. Originally from Colombia, Piedad is a native Spanish speaker who teaches Spanish at Danbury High School. She holds a master's degree in Secondary Education from Sacred Heart University and a master's in TESOL from Bridgeport University.
