About Winter Reading

Every person has a rich history and unique stories to tell — dive deeper into your own this winter! Explore topics like family, history, and identity while reading. Log your reading minutes and reflect on your own story — all while earning badges on your virtual BINGO card! Fill your whole BINGO card to earn a brand-new book! Program runs Jan. 1-March 19.

Join us for a cozy and engaging winter reading adventure with our "Winter Stories: Read Around the World" program! Designed for school-aged children and families, this program invites participants to explore a diverse selection of books that reflect the rich tapestry of our community's experiences and cultures.

Participants will fill out a BINGO card featuring a variety of reading challenges and activities. As you read, you'll discover tales that celebrate different voices and perspectives, from beloved classics to contemporary favorites. Complete activities like sharing your thoughts on a story and creating winter-themed art, or even interview a family member about their winter traditions!

Every completed row on your BINGO card brings you closer to a prize and the joy of discovering new stories and ideas. This program not only encourages a love of reading but also fosters connection and understanding within our diverse community.

Join us this winter for an enriching experience that celebrates the many voices of New Canaan through the magic of storytelling!
