Program Description
Event Details
This two-session workshop will explore the properties of color, examining the meanings of hue, chroma, and value. The classes will consist of a visual presentation that reviews the fundamental properties of color, followed by activities exploring color analysis using paper, optical mixing with colored pencils, and determining and interpreting color symbolism, subjectivity, and arbitrariness. Each workshop will cover a different aspect of color theory, and you will receive one-on-one feedback on your work. Class discussion is encouraged.
About the Instructor: Evelyn Harvey is a local artist and educator excited to bring creativity and art to the community. She was a Professor of Visual Art teaching Drawing I, Painting I, Design Fundamentals, Color Theory, and Art Appreciation at Palm Beach State College. Evelyn received her BFA in painting from Pratt Institute and MFA in painting from Savannah College of Art and Design.
