Cooks & Books, our popular monthly cookbook series, resumes this September!  The theme of this fall series will be Cooks & Books: Traveling and Eating with Anthony Bourdain.   Through the simple act of sharing meals on his world-traveling TV shows, Food Network’s A Cooks Tour, The Travel Channel’s No Reservations, and CNN’s Parts Unknown, Bourdain became a beloved chef raconteur whose death in 2018 rocked the entire world. Let’s celebrate his life, his food, and his unvarnished wit.

Cooks & Books is a very popular library book group series.  If you are interested in joining, please register for the first event in the series. Ensure you clear your calendar to attend each monthly meeting (Sept. 27, Oct. 25, & Nov. 22).

What to expect:

  • At the beginning of each month, cookbooks by Bourdain will be available for registered participants to check out
  • During the month, cook to your heart’s content using the recipes from that month’s cookbook. The September book is Anthony Bourdain's Les Halles Cookbook (from his first restaurant).
  • At the end of the month choose one dish from the cookbook and bring it, potluck style, to the meeting (always a Friday at the end of the month) in the Kend Kitchen for lunch with the other Cooks & Books participants for a luncheon where we talk about food, what worked, what didn’t work and tips & tricks we share with each other.  Cooks & Books is a foodie’s paradise.
