Cooks & Books: Exploring Flavor
Our popular monthly cookbook club (formerly Cooking by the Book) resumes in March! The spring season (March, April, May) of Cooks& Books: Flavor will explore recipes and techniques to enhance your cooking experience, including the use of different kinds of cooking oils, exotic spices from around the world, and the unexpected food combinations that create the flavor umami, one of the 5 basic tastes that relates to savory. This is your chance to take your cooking to another, more pleasurable level with other food enthusiasts.
Please register to attend Cooks & Books (space is limited) for the three-month season. As a member you will be given a curated selection of themed cookbooks to check out at the beginning of each month. Then, on the fourth Thursday of the month, members bring their themed dish to New Canaan Library’s Kend Kitchen for a potluck-style dinner and fun discussions as you compare experiences.
The beautiful Kend Kitchen offers refrigeration, ovens to rewarm, and sinks and towels for easy clean-up. Expect to find much more than exciting cuisine at Cooks & Books: you’ll find great community and conversation!
