Event Details

New Canaan Library is pleased to offer a new 8 session weekly course this winter in Calligraphy. Calligraphy is the art of fine hand lettering. In this class, you'll learn "chancery cursive script," which dates back to the 14th century and was created by scribes to develop a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing writing style. Participants will use a calligraphy marker to learn the letter shapes and pen strokes. By practicing calligraphy in class and at home, you'll progress in creating beautiful artwork.

Please note: You must be present at the first class or your registration will be dropped.

Please note: There will be no class the week of February 10th, 2025.

About the Instructor: Carolyn Reifers has over 20 years of experience teaching Calligraphy in schools and Senior centers.
