Program Description

Event Details

Explore the exciting world of computer programming with the popular language Python. This course is designed for adults with little to no prior coding experience who want to learn the basics of computer programming in a fun, accessible way. While working on real-world projects, this hands-on, interactive class teaches essential coding concepts such as variables, loops, functions, and conditionals.

Learning computer coding as an adult is not just about acquiring a new skill; it's about unlocking a world of mental health benefits. Coding challenges the brain in ways that improve cognitive abilities, such as problem-solving, logical reasoning, and creativity. Adults strengthen their analytical thinking skills by learning to break down complex problems into smaller, manageable tasks. This process stimulates the brain to adapt to new challenges more efficiently, keeping you intellectually stimulated and motivated.

Please bring your laptop, if you have one. The library has limited laptops available to loan out for this class.

Please note: For an optimal learning experience, participants are asked to commit to attending all six classes.
