Event Details

Interested in learning how to effectively budget? Curious about ways to earn money as a fourth- through sixth-grader? Join high school senior Annika Khurana for another session of Money Matters, back by popular demand!

This five-week session will cover basic money management strategies, such as differentiating between needs and wants, the 50/30/20 budgeting rule, and opening a bank account. There will also be discussions on ways to make a positive impact on your community while earning some money, perhaps by organizing a garage sale that prevents used items from ending up in a landfill. Concepts taught in this series can lay a foundation for financial literacy and money-management habits for years to come. Please plan to join us for all five classes (November 5, 12 & 19 and December 3 & 10), as lessons will build on one another.

Accessibility and Accommodations

We strive to facilitate access to information and Library services for all patrons. If you have questions about accessibility or a request for accommodation, please phone 203-594-5002, email the librarian in charge of this program (see contact info above), or email [email protected] with as much lead time as possible.

Youth Participation Guidelines

If your child is under 12 years old, an adult caregiver must remain in the Children’s Room for the duration of the program. If your child finishes a program early, or if a child becomes ill, distressed, or behaves in a manner that interferes with other participants’ enjoyment of the program, they may be released into the Children’s Room before the program’s end time. Please ensure that your child knows exactly where to find you at all times.
