Event Details
Join our engaging and creative Air Dry Clay Pottery Workshop at New Canaan Library! This course is designed for pottery enthusiasts of all skill levels. Throughout four sessions, participants will gain hands-on experience working with air-dry clay, from the basics of hand-building techniques to creating their unique pottery pieces without the use of a kiln.
Due to the high demand and to ensure a comprehensive learning experience, it is essential that registrants commit to all 4 sessions.
Learning Outcomes:
- Gain foundational knowledge of working with air dry clay.
- Develop hand-building skills and learn various pottery techniques.
- Create and finish unique pottery pieces.
- Explore creative expression through clay art.
- Connect with fellow pottery enthusiasts and share your artistic journey.
All materials and tools will be provided by the library. Participants should bring an apron or wear old clothes, as working with clay can get messy.
Please note the last class will take place on Friday, August 2nd not Thursday, August 1st
About the Instructor: Kathleen Fay is an Art Teacher and freelance Photographer who has been teaching Art and Photography for over 25 years. She was an adjunct professor of Photography at various colleges for over 15 years. She has taught in schools, camps, and workshops and worked with all ages from toddlers, through college and on to senior citizens. She received her M.F.A. in Photography from Tyler School of Art and her B.F.A. in Visual Arts from S.U.N.Y Purchase.
