Program Description

Event Details

Welcome to STEAM Lab!  This time is for students ages 10-16 to use the MakerLab, try new equipment and deepen skills. Teen volunteers will be on hand to help assist.

Robotics Station:  Free build with the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 kits, tinker with an Arduino and meet OttoDIY, a programable 3D printed robot with Arduino components.

Textile Station:  We will have one sewing machine set up and supplies for hand sewing.  Try a simple starter project or work on your own project after you've learned the basics.

CAD Design:  Use Tinkercad to design for 3D printing or the laser cutter.  During STEAM Lab, only designs that you have created will be 3D printed.  Prints may take longer than class time to complete and can be picked up later. Laser cutter material will be limited to cardboard and scarps of wood.

Cricut Cutting Machine: We'll have a featured project to try on the Cricut or you can use the Cricut software or Inkscape to create your own designs.

Please register for each week you wish to attend.  You may come any time in the 4-5:30 window and stay as long as you are interested.  For October, we will meet on October 2, 9 and 16.

Registration opens September 1 at 8am.
