Notable Reads Book Group Discussion

This group reads broadly, with a focus on literary award winners, well-reviewed fiction, and translations. This month’s discussion is on Desperate Characters by Paula Fox, a charming, humorous story about Otto and Sophie Brentwood who live in a changing neighborhood in 1980's Brooklyn.  Sophie is bitten by a possibly rabies-infected stray cat and a series of disasters begin to plague the Brentwoods' lives, revealing the fault lines in a marriage and a society wrenching itself apart. 

Copies of the book will be ready for pickup in the HOLDS area on the first floor of the library at least four weeks before the discussion meeting.  Please check out your copy with a librarian.
